Istanbul's Cats

Feed the street cats of Istanbul across four famous stops — a Galata rooftop, the Kadıköy pier, a Bosphorus ferry and the Grand Bazaar. Share your meal in time and they purr. Keep them waiting, and you'll meet the paw.

Istanbul really does feed its street cats every day — bowls of food and water wait on every corner. This little game is a love letter to them.

How to Play

1Every cat has a fish meter. When it runs hot, the cat taps its paw — that's Istanbul cat language for "I'm hungry, human."
2Tap or click a cat to toss it a piece of your meal. Your plate is limited, but more food keeps arriving — watch the fish counter up top.
3Let a meter fill completely and you'll eat a paw slap instead of dinner — and the cat steals a piece. Three slaps and the stage is over.
4Every stop has its own surprise: shoo the seagulls in Kadıköy (tap them!), hold on through Bosphorus waves, and keep track of everyone when the Bazaar crowd blocks your view.

Pro tip: feeding a cat while it's begging scores the most points. Feeding a full cat wastes food.
